Pictures from Summer Solstice Gathering 2024

It has been a little over a year since our biggest event of 2024: the Smertekirken Summer Solstice Gathering, so you can say that this image gallery is slightly overdue... But, sometimes life makes tasks take a lot longer than you anticipated, and the saying better late than never is a good one.

This is where we would say all the lovely words about the event but, because the 2025 summer event ended just days ago, our heads and hearts are swimming with impressions from the last week. What we do want to highlight is that at the 2024 gathering, in addition to all of the beautiful suspensions for this amazing group of participants, we facilitated Smertekirkens first wedding ceremony between Iris and Iban. It was a beautiful ceremony and the additional guests were so sweet and merged into the vibe of the event in the loveliest way!

To everyone who participated in the Summer Solstice Gathering this year, we salute you! We feel that we, as a group, make the event together and that each of us—whether you are crewing, helping to make coffee, setting up and cleaning after meals, lending an ear to people who need it or just generally keeping up the vibe (and petting the cats)—are equally important to the whole.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined the event—either as a first-timer or as a return visitor! This was one of the very best suspension events that we have ever been to (we said that last year as well, but it just keeps getting better!), not least because of the energy and focus that you brought to the event! We hope to see you all again, sooner rather than later!
